North Yorkshire, England, 1963 – Reverend Kenneth Lord captured a startling image while documenting the interior of the Church of Christ the Consoler. He intended to showcase the ornate altar of Newby Hall, but he also captured THE SPECTRE OF NEWBY CHURCH. The figure is estimated to be 9 feet tall and some say resembles a 16th century monk with a shroud covering its face. The figure was not there at the time the photo was taken and was only discovered after the film was developed. No definitive explanation has been found.
