It is with heavy hearts that we, Fr. Ken, Karen (Terence), Terence (Rhoda), Leslie (Randolph), +Judith and Kerby (Carmela), announce the passing of our beloved parents – Mama Lusing Lao King on May 3, 2021, and Papa Amado King on May 4, 2021.  They will be greatly missed by their grandchildren Katherine, Tiffany, Nathan, Rafael, Quino, Layla, Riley, Kian and Kayden, along with Papa’s siblings Corazon, Pacita, Lydia, Ester, Arsenio, Robinson and Erlinda.  

We would not be where we are if not for Mama’s smarts and relentless efforts with Papa to provide for the family.  Papa is known for his big heart and endearing laughter which made people around him feel loved.  They were both generous, especially Papa, who would go out of his way to help those in need, without expecting anything in return.

Today is the memorial of one of my favorite saints, St. John Paul II. I consider myself a part of the JPII generation.  A seed of faith was planted in my heart when Pope John Paul II visited the Philippines for World Youth day in 1995. Fast forward 20 years after, I got ordained as a priest in Canada.
