The founder of the Polynesia Dance Company is the husband and wife tandem of Quirino Libao and Eleanor Lacaba Libao. Quirino was a company dancer of the former Manila Metropolitan Theater in Liwasang Bonifacio, Lawton. He specialized in modern and Polynesian dancing. He was the fire dancer of Zamboanga Restaurant in Makati way back in the early ‘80s. He was also a member of the Maranaw Dance Company, a cultural dance company, owned by his brother and sister-in-law, Mar and Susan Libao. Eleanor, on the other hand, who is more known to many as Len Libao, is a Polynesian Dancer and a kumu Hula (Hawaiian Teacher). She studied Polynesian Dancing under kumu Hula Grace Ramos, member of the Pacifica Dance Company, who was founded by the late kumu Hula Chiqui Ocampo, the Mother of Polynesian Dancing in the Philippines.
