New Outlook Update: A ‘None’ Category Color?

If you use Outlook, you might notice a new option in your category list—‘None’. 🤔 At first, I wasn’t sure about it, but here’s why it actually makes sense:

✅ It lets you categorize emails & calendar events without adding a visible color
✅ Works just like the other categories—just with a cleaner look
✅ Brings back a missing feature from Classic Outlook

October 6, 2024. Microsoft 365 (Office) Retiring the Feed Feature: Effective November 1, 2024, the Feed feature will no longer be accessible from the Microsoft 365 app. This decision is part of our ongoing efforts to streamline the user experience. 

The Feed feature was designed to help users explore the latest content and team activities. These items are moved to the "Recommended" section on the Microsoft 365 Home Tab.

Several users have questioned whether the Feed will be removed from Viva Connections and Edge for Business Work Feed. For privacy purposes, I wish to provide a show/hide functionality for the Recommended section. Don't worry, for answers, stay connected to the original article on Microsoft TechCommunity.

SEPTEMBER 18: OUTLOOK SECURITY UPDATE
This is to quickly inform you that Microsoft is starting the basic auth deprecation in outlook.com, hotmail.com, and live.com this week. As of this morning, they have disabled basic authentication in several regions. 

MS turned it off for about 3% of the impacted users and started with a smaller rollout to get a sense of the support volumes and ensure they have the proper messaging for folks. Their goal is to continue adding more blocked regions over the coming days/weeks.  

MS asks that you contact support directly if you experience any issues. Just remember, I don't work for Microsoft. I am an independent Microsoft 365 trainer who shares her knowledge. Like this post if it was helpful.
