This channel is dedicated to showcasing the various experiments and research that are conducted at the University of Michigan's Marine Hydrodynamics Laboratory. You will not only find videos of past experiments, but also live streams of the various activities throughout the laboratory. The Marine Hydrodynamics Laboratory (MHL) is part of the University of Michigan's Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. The facility is housed in the ground level of West Hall, formerly known as West Engineering. It is the last vestige of the College of Engineering found on Central Campus. The MHL houses several testing facilities, but the most notable and unique is the "Towing Tank," also known as the Physical Modeling Basin (PMB). The PMB is a 360 ft long, by 22 ft wide, by 10 ft deep body of water. The PMB was the first University owned and operated tank of its kind in the United States, and has been in continuous operation since 1905.
