✨✨New 8 minutes long video dropping tomorrow at 12PM EST! As voted by you in my last poll, it's 8 minutes of Esper (Espeon) skits from Problematic Eeveelutions (the others show up too!) I wanted to test if a long video impacts views at all. It took a very, very, very loooooooong time to make so I hope you will watch it! 🙏🙏🙏 I look forward to your honest feedback too!

The video is already available to watch for Patreon subscribers: https://www.patreon.com/c/sapphireluna !!

Which of these ideas sounds more appealing for my next video? I'm trying to make longer videos. 8+ minutes is my goal.

8 min of short skits about Espeon from Problematic Eeveelutions

8 min of cat Pokemon animations based on funny real cats pictures

8 min of original story&dialogue ft. all Problematic Eevelutions

8 minutes is way too long to watch for me!

Would you prefer if I had a channel just for Pokemon videos, and another channel just for Sonic videos?
This is my eternal question, but I am very hesitant to make such a big change. If you can, explain why/why not.

Yes

No

Don't care

In August I started operation "Revive my channel" which would last from August to January 1st. It is now passed January 1st. Did I succeed?

Well yes and no. I did get many new subscribers and got a decent amount of views. The problem is I had to post 10 times as often as I used to to achieve that. Before 2019, anything I posted easily got 200k+ views no matter how bad it was. Now I struggle to get to 20k views no matter how good it is. I think the reason for that is that the criteria for whether Youtube will push out your videos to many people or not have gotten more strict. It used to push very good videos out, but now it now it only pushes extremely good videos out because the competition is very strong. That's my theory anyways.

Moneywise, I went back to the same average I made before, but as mentioned earlier, I have to publish 10 times as often to get it. My videos just don't get enough views. A one minute animation takes me around 20 hours to make, but I will only get 15$ from it on average. That's like being paid less than 1$ per hour for my work. All the videos I made last year were not successful except one. The only video that did very well was "All the meme cats but they're poorly drawn cat Pokemon". When I posted that I thought: This video isn't good, no one will like it. And yet it did super well and I don't know why. So I made another meme cats video and this one did not do as good even though it was better. So it's hard for me to see the logic behind it. I had a few shorts do good, but most were complete failures.

This is pathetic to say, but I am fueled by success. The more views my videos get, the happier I am and the more I want to make more. But the opposite is also true. The more my videos fail and get no views, the more depressed I get and the less motivated I am to do more. I really want to be famous and successful! I get very jealous of other Pokemon or Sonic animation channels that get millions of views super easily. That's probably not healthy but it's the truth. I want to be like them and I want all Pokemon and Sonic fans to know who Sapphire Luna is. I want to make a living doing what I love. Maybe I'm greedy but that's how I feel. But currently due to my low views on average, I'm not making anywhere close to enough to quit my job. I would need to at the very least triple my views to even start considering going full time. So what do I do now that the trial period is over?

I will not give up! It will be a very slow grind but I will succeed! I really want to be a full-time Youtuber and quit my job I don't like. I just love making characters move and talk and creating stories. I've realized I can't please everyone so I might as well please myself. There's no point if I don't have fun. From now on I will only make the videos that I want to make (as opposed to making what I think people want to see), and I will try to care less about the numbers. That is difficult because numbers are everything in the algorithm, but if I don't have fun, my videos won't be good. I still think having Pokemon and Sonic on the same channel is hurting me since subscribers who don't like Sonic won't watch my Sonic videos and vice versa, but it's too late now to separate them. Consistency is also very important. I havent been consistent because I'm posting all kinds of stuff. This is my solution:

My shorts will be 100% Sonic and my regular videos will be 75% Pokemon and 25% Sonic. That way they are separated but they are still on the same channel. My Sonic shorts perform so much better than my Pokemon shorts so no point doing Pokemon shorts. I still have Pokemon shorts queued up for January and February, but starting in March, shorts will be only Sonic. The regular Pokemon videos will be 75% Problematic Eeveelutions and 25% others. I need to be consistent and I've chosen Problematic Eeveelutions to be my "regular" thing. I will still do Don't do this to you Pokemon, but not very often.

Last thing, I used to post every Monday and most Thursdays, but with my day job and other stuff, this has become very exhausting. I won't be posting on a regular schedule anymore. I will work on videos at my own pace because giving myself a deadline only makes me rush through things and makes videos feel like a chore I need to finish in time. So now I will post videos when they are ready, whenever that is. I will post less often but hopefully the quality will be higher because I don't need to hurry. Hope you understand.

If you have read all of this, then you are a super fan and I thank you from the bottom of my heart! It's thanks to you that I'm not giving up. I hope you will continue to support me and that you will continue to enjoy what I post! I appreciate all your feedback so don't hesitate to comment.
