Filling in some date with my long time buds the Powell Brothers! Fun facts: I produced their first EP “Introducing the Powell Brothers” and played drums on it. I’ve subbed in on gigs with them ever since and have built up a collection of 25 Powell Brothers song charts in my iPad! Now anytime they need me again, I just pull up all the songs I have, write out any new ones, and I’m ready. I’m also running their Ableton rig which is different from mine. This setup packs a punch with just a 3 piece band. They do it 2 piece often with singer Taylor on drums…which just happen to be the beautiful ‘61 Ludwigs pictured below. Video coming next week!

DrumLife update!! My drum studio construction has begun!! Can’t wait to work in here making tracks and videos (even teaching lessons?!). I hate to keep posting “stay tuned, more videos on the way” but it’s true! I’ll have a waterfall of content coming once this studio is finished. Thank you all for subscribing! 

This is how you “learn” 21 songs with no rehearsal and no kit to practice on. Here I’m making color-coded drum charts for a last minute  out of state fill in gig with my buds the Powell Brothers. From First Class as well! A big part of my DrumLife evolution over the last decade has been mastering the challenge of airport travel, minimizing the headaches involved, and even make it enjoyable and dare I say, relaxing!! 

I’ll make a video explaining my charting method soon!
