We're back on the High Seas!  This time  we're on a 7 night sailing to Northern Europe, to visit the beautiful Christmas Markets! 

We left Southampton last night, and we're bound for France, Belgium, Holland and Germany!  It's always a delightful opportunity to get into the the festive spirit, and have a few (make that several) glasses of mulled wine! 

We're back with Cunard, as they are one of the very best at holding Christmas cruises,  and we look forward to bringing you along with us for the journey!

Some interesting news from Cunard today: involving a major refit for the Queen Elizabeth.  On 25th February 2025 she will enter dry dock, and undergo some meaningful updates and refurbishments. Including:

1. Major updating to the Grills section, including the Lounge, Restaurant and Terrace areas. 
2. Reworking of menus by Michel Roux Junior
3. Introduction of a Wellness Cafe, as seen on Queen Anne. (We thought this might happen (
4. Updating to the Commodore Club
5. Updating to the Queens Room
6. Updating to Garden Lounge 
7. Updating to Panorama Pool Club
8. Updating to the Pavilion 
9. Addition of Harpers Bazaar, as seen on Queen Anne
10. Updates on the technology front

This has all been timed to happen before the debut of its season in America.  Including the Caribbean from Miami, and Alaska from Seattle.

Richard Branson has today announced that starting in 2025, Virgin Voyages will offer an Annual Pass.

What does that mean? Well for a one off, fixed fee, you can sail on any of the 3 Virgin ships, an  unlimited number of times in the year. Pick and choose, hop from 1 ship to the other, as you feel like it.

How much will this set you back?

$120,000 per cabin,  per year.  Not including taxes and fees.

The internet is going wild, saying this is a bargain. But I'm not sure.  That's $328 per night  + taxes and fees. And that's assuming you use it 365.   Is  that a bargain?  You can often pick up Sea Terraces for about $175 per night, per person. And that comes with no commitment.

Cruising to the Norwegian Fjords is saved... for now.

Very interesting story on Forbes this morning, highlighting that apparently cruise ships to the Norwegian Fjords have been given a reprieve. For a bit. 

As it stood (before yesterday) cruising to the Fjords from December 2025  onwards would have been off the cards, as emissions standards would have been impossible to meet. All cruising to the Fjords would have come to an end.

Seems like an extension has been granted until 2032.  Cruising can continue.

Destinations such as Olden, Flam and Geiranger will continue for cruise itineraries until then
