While life has been extra lately…. My friend Henry has been like a big brother to me. Good humans deserve a shoutout. In moments when I didn’t feel safe or strong enough to stand on my own, he has been there - funny, kind, and steady. His friendship has been a gift, and I don’t take it for granted. 

Thank you, Henry, for being the kind of person this world needs more of. Thank you for helping me with support, from retrieving belongings, & hanging with me when I didnt feel safe to do it alone to meals and laughs, thanks for keeping an eye out for me. You’ve reminded me that even in the hardest chapters, we’re never truly alone. Our friendship going on over a decade means the world to me! Everyone needs a Henry!! Btw, he is also a talented photographer if you need photos, call him! 

Thanks for being a good human, making me laugh and looking out for me. 

Hug your true friends, let the heavy stuff go. ❤️🫶🏽

Happy Easter, my left eye closes a little more than my right eye when I smile or get tired because I have astigmatism/lazy eye in my left eye. I used to have to wear an eyepatch on my right eye to try to strengthen my left eye and always felt like such an idiot loser because I couldn’t see and I had to wear something over my eye like a pirate patch over my eye, it didnt work btw. 

I hear different frequencies in each ear, my right ear lost certain frequencies when I was in a boating accident in 2017, that’s why I prefer my on stage monitor to be on the left and when I am in the recording studio, I have my headphones lopsided to even out the sound, no engineer could ever fix it.

 I remember when I was little, we would do the Easter egg hunt at Beringer Winery, in St. Helena. I remember vividly feeling intimidated, by all the other swarming kids in a rush to grab Easter eggs as fast as they could. I remember as they said “go”, I just stood there and watched all the orher kids go nuts as quickly as they could to consume and grab as many eggs as they could, while I stood there with my empty basket. I remember my dad saying (at my first time, I was 4/5) “what’s wrong with you?? go, go get the eggs. Everyone else is going. You’re gonna miss out”! I remember as soon as I made it across the grass all the eggs had been taken. I remember  another kid coming up to me to compare how many eggs I had, when I had only a couple, they shared theirs with me.

 It wasn’t long after that, I met my best friend Lilly, who was born blind. She never had any eggs in her basket, she couldn’t see to get them…. But she sure was good at hide and seek, blind since birth… But she could hear you breathing no matter where you were hiding so she always won hide and seek. 

Lilly, is not on social media but some of you may remember her as Lauren Chastain…. She has been my best friend since I was five and has been my solid stable angel during this time of my life. She and her family took me in like their own on Christmas eve when I was kicked out of my own childhood home, and my life was threatened by someone I loved the most. 😣

She was always my solid rock, and I her’s. We experince the world differently because we feel it, we dont see it. We arent interested in what society thinks is correct, we operate at our own pace. You just never know when your life is going to switch, hold onto to the people who love you and know you and trust you and prove their loyalty no matter what. Sometimes, it’s just one person and that person is very special, far more special than a basket full of “eggs”….. I’ve never been “fast” or competitive, but I’ve always paid attention to what matters. Life isnt perfect, and it sure as hell doesn’t always make sense… Keep going.

Jesus walked alone, he was called a lunatic too and they still hung him on the cross.

He is Risen!

“Just woke up from a nightmare where he and I and my little dog Truffles were driving the California coast and his ANGER got so bad he nearly drove us off the cliff, I reacted and he blamed me. Then second time around the anger got worse and he actually did drive us off a cliff and as we went flying through the air I remember looking at him as he calmly with a blank unemotional stare looked down at the ocean and said “Sorry”. Knowing we would both die. 

We hit the water and I felt a higher power gently land us into the water. Truffles was nowhere to be found, I lost her… but we were alive. We made it to shore and we found a place with running horses, the horses were white and we sat in a garden while I didn’t have one scratch. I asked if he would rub my back and as he did blood dripped everywhere. It was all over me, but it was actually coming from him. He had been cut somewhere from the accident….. I did my best to set my shock aside and help nurse him and clean him up as he sat there with my scarf over his face to protect himself from mosquitoes. 

Then, I woke up. There was Truffles at my feet, warm and cuddly - just the two of us girls, safe and sound. Homeless staying with friends but grateful to be alive and starting a new life.

When I woke up, I remembered I left this insane person behind. It was a good reminder, it takes one second to lose it all to one’s anger, it also takes one second to decide to no longer tolerate what’s hurting you, and walk away.”

A rare opportunity to be invited over to Thailand with 3 days notice, it changed my life. I got to hang with, get to know and sing for some good Americans wrapping up a deployment overseas. I can’t thank them enough for not only including me but also making sure I was safe the entire time I was in Thailand and even joining me on my adventures as well as inviting me on their’s. I made stronger friendships and cultivated new ones that shall last a lifetime. I laughed harder than I ever have and cried harder when I said farewell. While we are safe and sound, many are overseas sacrificing for us and the free world. Thank you for what you do, I stand with you, always.
