Almost every woman I have met has a story about raising a health issue and being dismissed, disrespected or told “it’s all in your head”. In Hysteria we’ll be looking at why that happens, and what we might be able to do to change it.

Off duty Mads 😴☀️
Happy new year my fellow science lovers! 

At the start of 2024 I took a big risk and quit my 9-5 to work as a science communicator full time. Now in December, I'm sitting here and can't quite believe all of the opportunities I've had, the talented people I've worked with and the stories I've been able to share... 
 
Just a few of the highlights: 
-Over 32,000 of you are following me on social media and you've watched my videos over 28 million times. How cool is that! One of my favourite parts of my week is reading the comments and seeing people get excited about robots/mummies/spaceflight. 
- I've been learning from the best at the ABC, first working on mini YouTube documentaries for ABC Science. Now I'm presenting and producing social content as part of the ABC Creator Program. 
- Production is underway for Hysteria, my social media documentary about the challenges women face in Australia's health system. Huge shoutout to the Hysteria team (Margie Bryant, Henry Zwartz and Tej Bhat) and Screen Australia for getting this project off the ground and supporting me as a first-time producer/writer/director. Looking forward to early 2025 when we get to release the episodes (stay tuned).  
- I'm getting into the podcast space, working with the Project 100 to cut through the noise surrounding health and longevity. Plus I've got another secret project (more details to come!).
