We've been asked to make a podcast for years.
Finally getting around to it.

The Retirement Nerds is now on Spotify and Apple Podcasts if you'd like to listen on your drive... or while doing yard work... or chores around the house.

We're starting by uploading past interviews and excited for new interviews and videos.

Just released a behind-the-scenes studio tour for members.

This shows the cameras, lights, microphones... the full setup of everything I'm looking at that you can't see in these videos.

Prepare to either be overwhelmed... or underwhelmed...

Today marks the 1st day of the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP).
October 15th to December 7th is the window where anyone on Medicare can make changes to their current Part D drug plan or their Medicare Advantage plan.

A few tips...

***If you are already on Medicare***

1. Connect with your agent/broker - if you have one.

2. If you are happy with your existing plan, you don't have to do anything. It will auto-renew.

3. If you are unhappy with your plan or it is going away, use your agent/broker to find a new one.

4. Use Medicare.gov to shop your standalone Part D drug plan (if you have one).
We're releasing a tutorial in the next 24 hours.

5. If you change plans, the new plan will start January 1st, 2025.
You are still on your old plan until then.

6. You got this!

***If you are just starting Medicare***

1. If you need Medicare to start BEFORE January 1st, 2025, get your Medicare Part A and B set up through SSA.gov, then, connect with your agent/broker - if you have one - to get the supplement/drug plan in place or your advantage plan.

2. If you need Medicare to start AFTER January 1st, 2025, on behalf of most of the agent/broker community, you are more than welcome to reach out, but if we can meet AFTER December 7th, that gives agents/brokers the ability to help all those currently on Medicare meet their December 7th deadline.

3. If you need Medicare to start on January 1st, 2025, if you have Part A and Part B set up already, there is still plenty of time from December 8th thru December 31st to get your plans in place.

But for those who need their changes made during AEP, December 7th is their cutoff, so they will usually get priority with their shorter deadline.

***If you are an agent/broker***

1. Communicate with your clients.

2. It's only 7 weeks. You can do anything for 7 weeks :)

3. You got this.

Bonus tip for Agents
You are welcome to share any of our videos with your clients if they will help (Part D tutorial will be useful).
Just make sure they reach out to you and not us.
We are not in the business of stealing clients from other agents, but we also can't see where they came from.

If someone comes to us looking for help, we will ask if they have an agent, but not everyone knows if they do.

Good luck everyone!
See you on the other side :)
