Hello team, found another banger that I think many of you would enjoy. Great historical context to a lot of pro Israel talking points we've been seeing on this platform. Due to certain events outside of my control which I can't publicly comment on at the moment, I haven't been able to make regular videos for the past 2 weeks. In the mean time I want to recommend an excellent video that popped up on my feed from a smaller channel  ‪@BrigitteEmpire‬  whose coverage is relevant and inspiring for those who care about the issue of Palestine, and how we talk about it online. I'll be back with a video hopefully very soon :) but until then, check it out! 

Ethan Klein responded to my video on his Instagram story today by calling on his fans to compile "potentially defamatory clips" of me on his subreddit. He offered no response to any of my actual points. Sort of saying the quiet part out loud there, aren't we, Ethan? Love to see it 

Hey everybody, my latest video was demonetized within hours of uploading. This has happened with many of the videos I've made about Gaza in the past. There are a few reasons; I don't self censor by using phrases like "unalive," "SA," or "G-Cide" (in place of "slaughter," "rape" or "genocide") nor do I avoid showing footage of what's happening when I feel it's necessary for viewers to see. I am critical of the western media for doing these very things. The price of doing this, though, is that videos get demonetized and I sometimes have to work with sponsors. I'd rather not have to do that. I don't want to insert sponsored segments into these videos, I think it breaks up the information in a way that makes it less watchable. An old friend of mine  ‪@sawdude‬  released his first YouTube video on the good, the bad and the ugly of the Biden administration. It's excellent, informative and very relevant to the upcoming election. He's got 12 subscribers let's get this man to 13 

My channel received a community guideline violation warning for using news footage from Palestine. I appealed this violation and was almost immediately denied, and I believe this was a mistake, so I am posting this here to restate my case. I provide citations which link to the evidence in the attached image.

According to YouTube, at  11:53  in this now deleted video ( https://youtu.be/ipTUw6Wm2d0 ) there is a violation [1] of its policy on child safety [2]. The cited timestamp shows a 1 minute and 30 second clip of an MSNBC broadcast from October 7th, 2023. Two anchors discuss the events of that day, as footage plays on left side the screen showing a group of men in Palestine (the Jenin Camp in the West Bank) pointing guns into the air. One man, at one point in the video, fires a gun into the sky.

For part of the clip, a young girl can be seen sitting atop the shoulders of a man, holding two guns. While this footage does show a minor partaking in a dangerous activity, I believe that this clip falls under the exception of "content with educational, documentary, scientific, or artistic context.” This footage is documentation of a major historical event, it is presented in its full context provided by the anchors, and the girl has not been injured.

Importantly, this footage can still be found elsewhere on YouTube. It’s up on MSNBC’s official channel with almost 200k views [3] and is fully playable and monetized [4]  (with a Kamala Harris campaign ad, no less)  https://youtu.be/NAxI3MBLk2g?si=yEy4B... 

I sourced this footage for my video from MSNBC’s channel directly, where there was no indication that it had been age restricted or even demonetized. If there had been, I would have either blurred this footage, or left it out entirely. The latest uploaded version of my video does contain this same footage, but it is censored, and the video has no age restrictions and received no violations. The video is currently demonetized, but I requested a review. It will be made public as soon as it clears (if it clears).

While I was able to knock the violation down to a warning by taking a policy training [5], I'm here to request that this warning be removed. The warning is set to expire on January 25th, 2025, and as I plan on continuing to cover the genocide in Palestine, and using footage of it, more false violations of this nature may occur, which could result in channel strikes and eventual channel termination.

If you want to help me out, please link this community post on Twitter, tag @TeamYoutube and request that this violation be reviewed again, and the warning removed. I’ll keep you all updated if anything changes.
