Attention high school and college teachers: I’ve heard from many of you that you show my videos in class and spark discussions afterward. I appreciate that—and I want to join the conversation. I’m opening the door to FaceTime into a few classes. If you’re interested, shoot me an email at tommygmcgee123@gmail.com. Let’s talk.

Is it wrong to take a sponsorship with a company like Stake or Draft Kings?
I see YouTuber's getting roasted for it, but here are a few things to consider:
-Your favorite podcaster has 9 sponsors on one episode and no one blinks an eye, your favorite Youtuber does 1 ad and everyone complains (better help, stake, etc).
-you guys may not know that with 6 employees, there is a TON of overhead costs to bringing you a high quality video once a week. Vice needed an entire company to do this. My guys work their nuts off to provide a weekly upload. Radio gets ads, TV gets ads, it's so hard for us to get ads.

Why are Youtubers so harshly judged if they take "the wrong sponsorship" that greatly helps the finances of the channel? No one gets mad at celebrities pushing booze or fast food, but a Youtuber gets eaten alive.

The era of corporate media dominance seems to be over. After so many years of being the underdog against major news corporations, it’s great to see this new wave of media (podcasters and youtubers) show that they took the torch away from the largely corrupt establishment. But with this swing of power, the “independents” must be careful to actually remain independent. Right now, I see a lot of “independents” basically toeing the right wing line.

I think a good measure of fair judgement is this: are you able to compliment an enemy for something they do well? And are you able to criticize your champion if you feel he steps out of line?

Basically, if you can’t criticize Trump when he makes a mistake, you aren’t an independent. If you can’t praise Biden when he does something well, you aren’t an independent. And vice versa.

We must remember our government is beholden to us the people, and it’s up to us to keep them honest. When we are too afraid to criticize, that’s when tyranny has the chance to overtake us.

So let’s remind ourselves to be fiercely independent, give kudos when kudos are due, and boldly critique when appropriate. Merica!
