Reminder, the 2025 Morrowind May Modathon Month Modding Competition begins May 1st at 12am GMT and runs through to June 2nd at 12pm GMT! As always, modders can unlock shiny new achievement badges by releasing mods, win weekly random-drawing prizes, and participate in weekly themed challenges! The 2025 Morrowind May Modathon Modding Competition, the 11th annual Modathon celebrating Morrowind's 23rd birthday, begins May 1st and goes through to June 2nd! Over the last decade, 1500 mods have been released for the Modathon modding competitions, and this year is sure to be another exciting event! We've got new achievements, new prizes, and new optional themed challenges for modders to partake in!

It's March, and you know what that means, the Modathon is coming! Yes, that's right, the biggest modding competition in the Morrowind community is returning for an 11th year, and it is quickly approaching! As always, it starts on May 1st, and while it's a bit early yet, as a reminder, the Modathon is a free-for-all modding competition - that means all mods are welcome, regardless of when you started making them!

And if you need some modding ideas, today we're announcing the OPTIONAL themed challenges for the 2025 Morrowind Modathon!

May 1st-10th - Fables & Foibles
May 11th-17th - Horror & History
May 18th-24th - Greed & Desire
May 25th-June 2nd - Parties & Betrayals

Again, these are optional, think of them more as writing prompts to give you some direction or a challenge if you need it. Only these writing prompts come with shiny new achievement badges!

But again, the Modathon is a free-for-all, so use the challenge themes or don't use the challenge themes, all mods are welcome, and we'll be ringing in Morrowind's 23rd birthday on May 1st with a modding extravaganza!

We'll have more information about the Morrowind Modathon in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, stay tuned, and, as always, happy modding! 

Hey everyone, sorry it's taking me so long to finish production on our next showcase, but I do have some exciting news! We're only a little ways into 2025, but so far, each month has been a record-breaking one for the Morrowind Modding Community! January and February saw the release of 163 and 181 new mods respectively, a combined 344 new Morrowind mods, a record-breaking total for the start of 2025!

In fact, both January and February rank in the top 10 biggest months ever recorded for the Morrowind Modding Community! You can see a breakdown of the top 10 here:

3. May 2021 - 268 New Mods Released
4. May 2019 - 258 New Mods Released
5. May 2023 - 218 New Mods Released

9. December 2024 - 156 New Mods Released

10. February 2023 - 153 New Mods Released

If this trend continues, 2025 will be one of the biggest years ever for Morrowind modding! The shine of Morrowind's new golden age continues to ever brighten, and this is truly an exciting time for us Morrowind fans!

Of course, more mods means more showcases, and I can safely say that new showcase videos will be returning on Monday! Until then, as always, happy modding!

Hey folks, bit late posting this here, but in case you missed it, 23 new Morrowind mods were released for the 2025 Morrowind Winter Modjam, including lots of new quest mods, new armors (as shown below), new gameplay mechanics, new graphics replacers, and new locations!

The themes for the 2025 Morrowind Winter Modjam have been announced! Participating modders must use at least one of the following themes:

"Pre-Existing Characters"
"Tribunal Temple Pilgrimages"
"Solstheim" (thank Istreddify for this one)

Those who are participating, you have 48-hours to build your mods! The event ends on February 9th at 11:59pm UTC! Good luck everyone! 

Reminder folks, the 2025 Morrowind Winter Modjam is this weekend, February 7th-9th! Danae will be hosting the kickoff livestream on February 7th at 11pm UTC, which will include theme voting and mini-games before the final themes are revealed and the competition begins! As a quick recap, once the themes are revealed, modders will have 48 hours to come up with, design, and release their mods! Best of luck to all the contestants!

Hey folks, sorry for the lack of videos lately, I've been sick again (some respiratory bug) and while I've mostly recovered, I haven't quite gotten my voice back yet. As a reminder though, I do post semi-regularly on BlueSky and Tumblr with Morrowind screenshots and video clips (mostly scenic excess video footage that would otherwise go unused, but also the occasional preview clip for mod showcases I'm working on), so feel free to follow me on there if you want more Morrowind content. 

Hopefully I'll get my voice back by next week, I have a stack of scripts ready to go and a lot of video footage recorded, they just need audio narration to get things back on track so stay tuned for new videos!

Quick Announcement: The 2025 Morrowind Winter Modjam, a 48-hour modding extravaganza, begins the weekend of February 7th-8th!  Returning for the first time since 2023, the Winter Modjam is a weekend-long challenge to try and come up with, build, and release a mod within a mere 48-hour period! There'll be prizes, livestreams, and creative challenges!

As always,  ‪@DanaePlays‬  will be hosting the the livestream kickoff on February 7th at 11pm UTC! Be sure to join in for the Modjam theme reveal, and maybe try your hand at making a mod before time runs out! Either way, we'll be showcasing the results after the competition is over, so stay tuned!
