My parents both worked for Aston Martin Racing  (UK). Mum joined in Jan 1949 as secretary racing dept for John Wyer; whereas dad was a race mechanic 1950s. In 1955 season dad went to MG/BMC Competition Dept as the #2, did all development driving on EX182 & hired 6 drivers for LeMans 1955, one being Ken Miles. Miles later convinced Dickie to "come to America" and was his sponsor. Did would become Crew Chief for Tony Parravano in SoCal. Re-join Aston Martin 1958 as Resident Engineer for all North America. In 1960  he joined Rover Motor Company of NA LTD in South San Francisco, CA. He stayed 30 years Service Manager & Product Development Engineer - as company changed name to British Leyland, Leyland Motor Sales, BL, Jaguar-Rover-Triumph & finally Jaguar Cars Inc.
